Spinster aunts with a knack for knocking off elderly bachelors are the subject of "Arsenic and Old Lace," a dark comedy presented by Green Fields Country Day School tonight through Saturday.
The production, written by playwright Joseph Kesselring in 1939, follows a young man who discovers his aunts are a couple of murdering maidens.
The production received wide enough acclaim during its original stage run that it was made into a movie in 1944. The film was directed by Frank Capra and starred Cary Grant, Josephine Hull, Jean Adair and Raymond Massey.
The Green Fields play will feature drama students from the school and is directed by teacher Joe Romanov.
Performances are at 7 p.m. each night. Tickets are $5 at the door.
Green Fields Country Day School is at 6000 N. Camino de la Tierra. Call 297-2288 for more information.
