A fire closed access to Mount Lemmon on the Fourth of July, but the road up the mountain was expected to open at 6 a.m. today.
The fire was reported at about 2 p.m. at milepost 21 at Spencer Canyon. It likely was caused by lightning, said Deputy Dawn Barkman, a Pima County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman.
The blaze burned a tenth of an acre, but firefighters quickly contained it, Barkman said. They were working Monday night to put out the blaze.
