I want to share a belated THANK YOU to TUSD Administration and Leaders for the free summer lunch program offered this year to students.
When the Texas Legislature passed Senate Bill 840, the goal was to boost the state's housing stock in major cities. The law allows developers to build multifamily and mixed-use projects in districts zoned for commercial use without having to request a zoning change.
I landed my first real, albeit minimum wage job at the tender age of 15, and one of my lasting memories was how the paycheck came with a boatload of deductions.
A lot of jobs in the U.S. economy pay miserably low wages. And a lot of them offer a reasonable hourly rate but still result in miserably low earnings because of unstable, fluctuating schedules.
Emerson College released a poll of likely Democratic primary voters in Michigan about a week before the vote. It had progressive firebrand Abdul El-Sayed leading U.S. Rep. Haley Stevens by 15 percentage points in the race for U.S. Senate.
