NEWARK, N.J. — A New Jersey baggage screener who left a note that said “Get your freak on girl” in a suitcase containing a sex toy will be fired, the Transportation Security Administration says.
The agency personally apologized to the passenger, TSA spokesman Kawika Riley said Friday, calling the handwritten note “highly inappropriate.”
The bag belongs to New York lawyer and feminist blogger Jill Filipovic, who flew to Ireland from Newark Liberty International Airport on Saturday.
The note got widespread attention after she posted a photo of it on Twitter.
She blogged that her initial reaction was “Total violation of privacy, wildly inappropriate and clearly not ok, but I also just died laughing in my hotel room.”
