I have been watching college football for over 70 years and I am very disappointed in what players are doing to the quality of the bowl games. I have watched almost all the bowl games and saw how the players opting out of the games to protect themselves from injury and their draft position.
Take for example, Ohio State had their best two offensive players not playing which not only affected the outcome of the game but cheated the viewers out of a great game.
Almost every team has a number of players not playing for their team. These student/ athletes had a contract with the school to play football in exchange for a scholarship to pay for their costs of education. The NCAA should ban athletes from entering the portal until their season is over. It also affects the odds on the game.
Sad affair.
