Free trade means products can be traded without tariffs or import quotas without so much regulation and tax increases. An economic idea that fosters wealth creation and efficiency.
Tariffs promote a “pay to play” game. The quid pro quo approach ruins both big and small business and penalize consumers. Tariffs create abusive regulation.
Tariffs often lead to bribery and corruption due to increased incentives for evasion.
Bribery to escape tariffs can result in corruption in customs rules/laws and also inspire black markets to flourish. They can inspire scams such as misclassifying labels, manipulation values or just basic smuggling or kickbacks. The GOP is increasing taxes for consumers & business and creating huge amounts of regulation.
