A suspected China-linked hacking group is exploiting a critical flaw in Broadcom’s VMware vCenter Server, compromising systems in 47 countries. Researchers at German firm QUIRSO counted 361 victim IP addresses, with the United States second-highest at 41. The vulnerability, CVE-2026-59310, scores 9.8 out of 10 and lets an unauthenticated attacker run code with root privileges. Broadcom patched it July 29; exploitation began August 3. Shadowserver says victims should be treated as fully compromised. Attackers deploy Babuk-derived ransomware, which researchers suspect is a smokescreen to destroy forensic evidence. Broadcom says there is no workaround — patching is the only fix. Disclosure: This video contains stock footage and content created or enhanced using AI-assisted tools. WooGlobe Ref : WGA281205
