UA Faculty Chair Leila Hudson speaks to the Star after the Aug. 31 Faculty Senate meeting
After the contentious Faculty Senate meeting Aug. 31, the first meeting of the fall semester and the new academic year, where University of Arizona President Suresh Garimella and Faculty Chair Leila Hudson sparred over recent university decisions and the former accused the latter of several "inaccuracies" in her claims, Chair Hudson told the Arizona Daily Star: "My response to that is we come at things from a different perspective, and in fact, I was very pleased to hear about all the specific successes that the president was able to tell the Senate about. My issues go to a larger context of whether or not the elected representatives of the faculty are sufficiently consulted or engaged in a way that would make those successes more powerful, even better and more collaborative."
