The Arizona Wildcats placed themselves on probation in a letter to the NCAA today, taking a men’s basketball scholarship away from the 2011-12 season but not costing the team any postseason penalty. The self-imposed penalty stems from a letter sent by former coach Lute Olson in support of the 2008 Cactus Classic youth basketball tournament.
