Jose Antonio Vizcarra, 25 of Mexico, was booked into the Pinal County jail Oct. 19, 2013, after fleeing from a traffic stop. Vizcarra pulled his car to the shoulder of the road along Highway 84 near Stanfield, but when the sheriff’s deputy got out of his patrol vehicle, Vizcarra accelerated and took off, according to a sheriff’s report. The car was found abandoned a few miles away. U.S. Border Patrol canine units were brought in and found Vizcarra and another man hiding in a cotton field nearby. Both men admitted to being in the United States illegally from Mexico.
