Tucson is a community rich in compassion and resilience. Yet every year, more of our neighbors face challenges that are deep and complex – homelessness, addiction, family separation and crisis, unplanned pregnancy, and poverty. These struggles are not short-term, and they cannot be solved with short-term solutions.
Faith-based nonprofits play such a vital role in our community. They go beyond meeting immediate needs and instead offer whole-person, long-term, deeply relational care that restores dignity, rebuilds lives and breaks generational cycles. Their work is both powerful and essential.
The Arizona Christian Tax Credit Alliance is a collaborative group of seven faith-based nonprofits serving the most vulnerable in our community. Each provides practical, faith-driven pathways to stability, healing, empowerment and hope. And each is eligible to receive the Arizona Tax Credit—one of the most powerful charitable giving tools in the country.
The Arizona Tax Credit allows taxpayers to redirect a portion of their state tax dollars directly to qualifying nonprofits—and receive a dollar-for-dollar credit in return. It costs nothing additional out of pocket if you are already paying state taxes.
Unfortunately, only a small percentage of Arizona taxpayers take advantage of this program.
At a time when needs are rising across our community, the Tax Credit allows us to invest in long-term transformation while keeping our tax dollars right here in Southern Arizona—funding solutions that work.
