GLOBE - The Miami Copper company produced in August 4,322 tons of concentrate, assaying close to 36 percent copper, which will yield about 2,900,000 pounds of fine copper. The mill recovery is reported to be 70 percent.
There was mined during the month 97,890 tons of ore, and 4,802 feet of development work was done. About 30 percent of the ore came from development work, 25 percent the shrinkage slopes, 35 percent square-set mining next to the capping, and 10 percent from the stock pile.
The second 500,000-gallon mill water storage tank has been erected, making a total capacity of 1,000,000 gallons. A 600 H.P. Babcock & Wilcox water tube boiler is being installed in the power house at Miami, making a total of 2,400 boiler horse power.

Foundations are being laid for the new steel and concrete change house, and the construction of the new hospital, jointly with the Inspiration company, has been started. It was designed to accommodate 40 patients and will be equipped with the most modern appliances.
Two churn drills are steadily at work developing the northeastern part of the property, and diamond drilling continues on the 570 foot level. About 100 men are employed.
About 600 men are employed at the Inspiration Consolidated mines in underground development and in construction work. Mine development is proceeding through five shafts and two tunnels and two main working shafts are rapidly going down. The main cast shaft is over 180 feet deep and was sunk 172 feet in August, which is claimed to be the record for a standard, three-compartment shaft in the United States.
