Kharchenkov, Jarusevicius led Wildcats statistically on Lithuanian exhibition tour

Kharchenkov wound up averaging 26.3 points while shooting 58.5% from the field, according to cumulative stats provided by Arizona. 

Meanwhile, during games played in his home country, transfer center Ugnius Jarusevicius made a strong move toward being at least the Wildcats' top backup post player.

With starting center and fellow Lithuanian Motiejus Krivas playing limited minutes because of a foot issue earlier this summer, Jarusevicius averaged 14.0 points and 6.0 rebounds while shooting 73.7% from the field.

Jarusevicius and Kharchenkov also both took 19 trips to the free throw line over the three games, with Jarusevicius making 14 (73.7%) and Kharchenkov 11 (57.9%).

After the Wildcats won their last game Saturday, Jarusevicius told reporters in Lithuanian that he was stopping over in Germany on the way to Tucson for some additional treatment on his back, according to a translation quoted by Arizona Sports. He missed all but one game last season at Nebraska with back problems.

Meanwhile, transfer point guard Derek Dixon averaged 13.7 points while shooting 51.5 % and posting a 5-to-1 assist-turnover ratio (15 to 3). But freshman guard Caleb Holt struggled to shoot, hitting 31.2% from 2-point range and just 3 of 12 3-pointers.
