A pair of Southern Arizona girls basketball teams will hit the road Friday night as they attempt to pull off the improbable: upset a top seed.
Ninth-seeded Ironwood Ridge will face No. 1 Gilbert Mesquite at 6:30 p.m. in the second round of the Class 5A state playoffs. In Class 4A, ninth-seeded Canyon del Oro will head to Cave Creek Cactus Shadows, another No. 1 seed, at the same time.
