Southern Arizona schools kick off region play in Week 4

Notable: The Jaguars are absolutely rolling through their schedule, winning all three games thus far by 30 points or more. Desert View dispatched Sunrise Mountain, Sahuaro and Phoenix Camelback in dominant fashion. Mountain View lost its Week 1 contest to Tucson High, rebounded with a 39-13 win over Phoenix Trevor G. Browne, then most recently got rolled by No. 1 Scottsdale Desert Mountain 65-0. The first region clash for both teams is set for Friday at 7 p.m. at Desert View.

No. 18 Sierra Vista Buena (2-1) at No. 16 Tucson High (2-1)

Location: 400 N. 2nd Ave

Notable: The first 5A Sonoran Region clash of the year between these two teams is a classic Tucson collision. The Colts and Badgers have played 42 times since their first meeting in 1976. Buena beat both Cienega and Skyline easily through the first two weeks before running into No. 4 ALA - Gilbert North for a 49-13 loss last week. Tucson sandwiched wins over Mountain View and 4A No. 9 Walden Grove with a loss to 6A No. 11 Salpointe in between. The 43rd meeting of the two schools is at Tucson High on Friday at 7 p.m.
