National Pancake Day — has a nice ring to it, don'tchathink.
And at IHOP — the palace o' the pancake, the bastion of buttermilk stacks, the sultan of syrup — National Pancake Day on Tuesday is indeed a holiday to be celebrated.
From 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday, you can get a free short stack of buttermilk pancakes for the asking. All they ask is that you leave behind a donation to Tucson Medical Center, the national chain's local partner.
TMC is affiliated with the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, which nationwide have benefited from the annual IHOP campaign for 10 years.
Since the company initiated the effort, it has given out more than 26 million pancakes and raised $20 million for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals programs nationwide, IHOP announced in a news release. Its goal this year is to raise $3.5 million nationwide.
