Rodney Atkins to headline rodeo Concert in February

Desert Diamond Casino’s Diamond Entertainment Center will once again host the official Tucson Rodeo concert, this year featuring Rodney Atkins.

Atkins (“Cleaning My Gun,” “These Are My People,” “Farmer’s Daughter,” “He’s Mine”) will perform at 8 p.m. Feb. 22 in a show that is co-sponsored by KIIM 99.5 FM and Coors. Tickets (starting at $25) go on sale Dec. 27 through startickets.com.

Ryanhood, Sonoran Dogs
at Festivus for the rest of us

Tucsonans can gather around the Festivus pole Saturday at El Casino Ballroom, 437 E. 26th St.

In its second year, the community Festivus will showcase local artists in celebration of the “Seinfeld”-introduced holiday and to raise funds for KXCI (91.3-FM) and the Tucson Kitchen Musicians Association.

Ryanhood is slated to perform at the event alongside the Sonoran Dogs with Peter McLaughlin, the Tucsonics, Jamie Anderson and the Duncan Stitt Trio.

The String Bean Folk Orchestra opens the show, which runs from 6-10 p.m. Admission is $10 at the door.
