If watching the documentary “Forks Over Knives,” encouraged you to add more plant-based foods to your diet, you may want to watch “PlantPure Nation,” the newest documentary from filmmaker Lee Fulkerson.
The new film also features nutrition scientist and bestselling author T. Colin Campbell (“The China Study”).
His son, Nelson Campbell, directed “PlantPure Nation,” which focuses on how government and agribusiness have perpetuated skepticism of plant-based diets while supporting the dairy, beef and egg industries, according to a review by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
Edible Baja Arizona is co-presenting the film’s opening night at the Loft Cinema, 3233 E. Speedway.
The event starts at 5 p.m. Friday with a mini food court on the patio featuring a variety of plant-based food vendors. The film screens at 7 p.m. and will be followed by a discussion about the benefits of a plant-based diet with Guy Borders, a Tucson neuroradiologist and vegan. General admission is $9.25, discounts are available.
