A 26-year-old Tucson man was busted Tuesday after trying to sell stolen UA football tickets on Craigslist.
The high-dollar University of Arizona season tickets were among other personal mail stolen Aug. 19 from a Foothills resident’s mailbox, said Deputy Tom Peine, a spokesman for the Pima County Sheriff’s Department.
Peine did not release the value of the tickets, but according to a UA website, football tickets can sell for as much as $350 apiece.
Tuesday deputies learned the tickets were being offered for sale on Craigslist and arranged to meet with the seller ostensibly to purchase them.
During the transaction with an undercover deputy, the seller, Emilio Pesina, was arrested, Peine said.
Pesina was booked into the Pima County jail and faces a charge of trafficking in stolen property.

Because the crime involved theft from a mailbox, federal investigators have been notified, Peine said.
