A garbage truck fire on I-10 this morning spread to brush but was doused by Rural/Metro firefighters before getting to nearby businesses. The driver, who was en route to the Los Reales Landfill, said he smelled smoke, then saw flames behind the cab and quickly pulled onto the shoulder near Alvernon Road. There were no injuries reported.
