Pedestrian, 70, dies
a day after being hit
A pedestrian struck by a vehicle Friday on Tucson’s east side has died of her injuries. Sharon Garrison, 70, died Saturday at a hospital, police said.
The collision occurred shortly before 5 p.m. Friday just west of North Constitution Drive and East Constitution Place, in the vicinity of North Houghton Road and East Fifth Street.
Detectives determined Garrison and a friend were walking on the shoulder of the road, and the vehicle, traveling in the same direction, struck her at a bend in the road. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation; no citations have been issued, police said.
