FLORENCE - Two inmates at a private prison in Florence escaped by using ladders to hoist themselves over fences.
Detective Walt Hunter of Florence Police Department says both inmates were serving homicide sentences at the Corrections Corporation of America prison and were from Washington state.
He says one of the two inmates, Kollin Fulsom, was later found in a two-story building about a mile south of Florence.
Authorities continued to search for the other inmate, Roy Townsend.
Hunter says the two inmates, who were assigned to a night cleaning crew, managed to tie down a prisoner worker, take ladders, climb on the prison's roof and scale two fences.
