Neurosurgeon joins Carondelet
Ryan M. Kretzer, M.D., a neurosurgeon from the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, has joined the medical staff of Carondelet Neurological Institute at St. Joseph's Hospital.
Kretzer spent 16 years at Johns Hopkins, as a student, resident and instructor.
He graduated from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and completed both his training in neurological surgery and his fellowship training at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. His specialty is the treatment of degenerative disc disease and spinal tumors with minimally invasive and complex neurosurgical techniques.
During his tenure at Johns Hopkins, Kretzer was an instructor in advanced spinal surgery techniques. He also studied spinal biomechanics at St. Joseph Medical Center in Towson, Md., and he spent two years working for the Food and Drug Administration, reviewing neurosurgical medical devices for safety and effectiveness.

Operations director announced
Patrick Maciulla has joined Lang Wyatt Construction as director of operations.
He will oversee all construction operations and field employee relations.
Maciulla brings nearly 40 years of commercial construction and management experience.
Prior to joining Lang Wyatt, he was with Giles Construction Inc. for 20 years, and was president of that company for the last 12 years.
New creative director named
Jeff Speigner has joined AlphaGraphics Commercial Printing Services as creative director, expanding its in-house design capabilities.
He is a graphic designer with more than 20 years of experience, much of it with The Boeing Co. in Seattle. He also worked for a Tucson advertising agency and ran a design studio here, AlphaGraphics said in a news release.
Speigner studied at Washington State University and the University of Washington. He served as a motion-picture photographer for the U.S. Army Special Photo Detachment for two years.
Last year he helped develop a program at the Pima County Public Library for youths to explore design, photography, animation, video and audio production. He travels to Guatemala annually to lead graphic design workshops for youths called Design4Kids.
