Continental Ranch to get "Grumpy's"

Grumpy’s Jr. is expected to open by early next month at 8235 N. Silverbell Road, in a corner spot that’s been home to three restaurants in two years.

Brenner’s Grill opened in December 2006 and about 18 months later changed its name to Dugout Bar & Grill. By August 2008, that was gone.

Monsoon’s Grill came and went a few months later.

“They’ve had three restaurants in that place. It gives me the chills, frankly,” said Grumpy’s owner Lorrie Klump. She and her husband, Tim, opened their first Grumpy’s two years ago at West Ina and Shannon roads.

Grumpy’s Jr. will include most of Grumpy’s menu, with the exception of a few dinner entrées that require extensive prep work. The Continental Ranch kitchen is too small to fuss with much beyond Grumpy’s solid array of burgers and sandwiches, served in plastic baskets.
