Literacy Connects, the International Rescue Committee Tucson and the Pima County Public Library are holding a Harvest Festival on Nov. 16.
The event, which is free and open to the public, will be from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Literacy Garden behind Literacy Connects, 200 E. Yavapai Road, near Prince Road and North Stone Avenue.
Activities, courtesy of the library, include chalk art, free books in several languages, an activity with seeds and a story time.
The International Rescue Committee will bring a translator so everyone can talk with the gardeners. The event also includes a potluck meal.
The festival will also be an opportunity to see the progress of the Literacy Garden. Shade sails and a ramada have been installed. Most recently, apple, fig and pomegranate trees were planted.
