Friends and family were invited to try the Royal Room on Saturday night.
The Royal Room, Tucson’s newest wine bar, opened its doors Tuesday on the same southeast corner of East Sixth Street and North Sixth Avenue as the newly opened Anello Pizzeria and Crooked Tooth Brewing Company.
The intimate locale (about 1,500 square feet) is just up the street from Tap & Bottle and a couple blocks west of North Fourth Avenue. Its offerings include a rotating list of wines from around the world, said Royal Room co-owner Ian Stupar.
“We want to help start the conversation about wine in Tucson,” Stupar said in an interview with the Star over the summer. “It seemed like an exciting time and opportunity to do something like this.”

Craft beer options and small food dishes meant to complement the wine — things like charcuterie plates, house sandwiches and bruschetta — also are available.
