Nashville songwriter Wyatt Easterling will perform Saturday in the Abounding Grace Sanctuary, 2450 S. Kolb Road, as part of the ongoing Live Acoustic Venue Association series.
Easterling was a finalist in the Kerrville New Folk Contest in 2010 and 2011. His songs have been recorded and made famous by Joe Diffie, Billy Joe Royal, Neal McCoy, Sons of the Desert and others. He wrote the title track of Dierks Bentley's multiplatinum album "Modern Day Drifter."
From his online biography:
" 'I'm a songwriter with deep country and folk ties; I like to write little vignettes about everyday life,' says Wyatt. His intricate guitar work and smooth voice pull in the listener to hear his lyrics filled with simple truths.
"His new release, 'Where This River Goes' on High Horse Records, captures his observations of the world around him. From the title track to his duet with Jessi Colter Jennings ('Sounds Like Life to Me'), Wyatt's album is a rich collection of poignant stories drawn from a life well-lived."
