The Star has aligned itself with the Koch brothers, who are pouring money into opposing Proposition 204.The opponents’ arguments are simply cover for not spending money on children. They have never offered any alternative for how Tucson low-income kids are to be able to attend high-quality preschool and reap the same benefits as kids in wealthy families. There is apparently no sunset on doing nothing for kids. It’s business as usual.
Once again Tucson’s establishment bends its knee to big business’ sham support for kids. If big business has its way, in 10 years 80,000 children will have lost the opportunity to attend high-quality preschool. It’s shameful and sad to see the Star backing big money against little kids.
Tucson, we have defied big business before. Don’t be duped. Vote YES for Prop. 204.
