The local BMW dealership will soon roughly double the size of its operation at the Tucson Auto Mall.
BMW Tucson, owned by AutoNation, plans to move to a 6 1/2-acre site south of West Wetmore Road near North Fairview Avenue in mid-November, said general manager Michael Famileti.
The dealership's showroom and service area will more than double in size from about 20,000 square feet to 46,000 square feet, Famileti said.
The new site will allow the company to hold an inventory of 200 new cars and 150 used cars, he said.
Its service capacity will also increase. The dealership's number of service bays - which will be 32 - is also more than doubling.
While the company saw its business drop during the recession, sales have begun to pick up.
