Cele Peterson's plans move to St. Philip's
Tucson's iconic Cele Peterson's Fashions has closed at Crossroads Festival and is moving to St. Philip's Plaza.
Founded in downtown Tucson in 1931 by its namesake, the enterprise - which sells special-occasion dresses, gowns and accessories - was at Crossroads, at East Grant and North Swan roads, for the last eight years.
"It was just time to move on, to switch things up a bit," said its president, Quinta Peterson, whose mother, Cele, known as the grand dame of Tucson fashions, died last year.
"It's a little bit difficult" to be completely closed at Crossroads, where the lease was up, while waiting for completion of the space at St. Philip's Plaza, Quinta Peterson said. "But it's also a little bit nice. It's a little mini-vacation, and it gives us time to pay attention to all the details of the new build-out."

She said the store is still accessible to customers, as she is taking their calls daily at 323-9413, taking orders and retrieving merchandise from storage as needed.
Peterson hopes to reopen at the beginning of October at St. Philip's, at North Campbell Avenue and River Road.
The store will announce its reopening date on Facebook, in emails to customers and through other multi-media venues, she said.

State's gas prices no longer the lowest
Gasoline prices in Arizona have gone up and are no longer the lowest in the country after an eight-week run, The Associated Press reports.
AAA Arizona said Thursday that the average price around the state for regular is $3.43 a gallon at the pumps, up by more than a nickel from last week. South Carolina now has the lowest average gas prices in the continental U.S. at $3.42.
This week's national average is $3.65 per gallon. Analysts say hurricanes and other storms impacted oil refineries and retail prices.
Tucson has the lowest average gasoline price in Arizona at $3.30 a gallon, which is up nearly 3 cents since last week. Flagstaff has the highest at $3.63.
