Mattel's Angry Birds Knock on Wood Game, a $14.99 physical version of the popular smartphone app, and Hasbro's $24.99 Beyblade Metal Fusion kits may top holiday toy sales this year, TimetoPlayMag.com says.
Also on the magazine's "Most Wanted" list released Tuesday are Mattel's Monster High Dead Tired line, which features various deathly pale dolls and accessories, including a pink Monster High Draculaura jewelry box coffin for $19.99, and Jakks Pacific Inc.'s Spy Net Stealth Video Glasses for $39.99.
"Consumers are looking for a lot of play value in a toy. They'll spend $10, they'll spend $100, but they want to know that this is a toy that is going to be played with," said Jim Silver, editor of the magazine, which issues an influential list of hot toys each year.
Taking a cue from last year's hits, many of this year's holiday offerings are toy sets or figures that kids can collect. But unlike last year, when Squinkies figures or Cepia's toy hamster Zhu Zhu pets mostly were collected by girls, this year's collectible toys are targeting boys.

Among this year's collectibles are Spin Master's Redakai, a trading card game, for $5.99 to $19.99; Cepia's DaGeDar collectible rolling balls for $4.99 to $19.99; and Lego Ninjago construction sets for $3.49 to $119.99.
Silver says the wide price range of the collectible toys is important, since many families remain cautious in their spending. At the same time, toy makers want to offer more expensive toys to parents who can afford it.
