Dr. Storey opens dental office in Oro Valley
Dr. Athena Storey has opened Studio Dental, a new dental office in Oro Valley.
She formerly practiced at a Tucson dental office for five years.
A Tucson native, Storey attended Salpointe Catholic High School and received her undergraduate degree in human biology from Stanford University. She earned her dental degree from the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry at the University of Pacific in San Francisco.
Common-area coordinators are named for Park Place and Tucson Mall
General Growth Properties has hired Karen Kobylinski as common-area coordinator at Park Place and promoted Diana Staggs to common-area coordinator at Tucson Mall.
In their new roles, they will coordinate any mall business activity conducted outside of the stores themselves.

Kobylinski has a bachelor's degree in hotel and restaurant management from Northern Arizona University. She previously managed marketing for her family real-estate company.
Staggs formerly was administrative assistant and receptionist for Tucson Mall. The Kansas native attended Kansas State University.
Lopez is named director of hotel operations for upcoming Casino del Sol resort
Longtime Casino Del Sol employee Sylvia Lopez has been named director of hotel operations for the Casino del Sol Resort Spa & Conference Center, scheduled to open in November 2011.
Lopez has been assistant director of food and beverage for the casino since 2007.
Lopez, a Pascua Yaqui tribal member with more than 12 years of retail management experience, began working at Casino del Sol in 2001 and was promoted to food and beverage supervisor. She became manager of Bellissimo, the casino's fine-dining restaurant, in 2003. Two years later, she was promoted to food and beverage manager, responsible for 250 employees, six restaurants and five bars.
Commerce Bank of Arizona hires Lewis to manage expansion in Maricopa County
Tucson-based Commerce Bank of Arizona has hired John S. Lewis as executive vice president to manage Commerce Bank's expansion in Maricopa County.
Commerce Bank in May entered into an agreement with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. to purchase most of the assets and deposits of the failed Towne Bank of Arizona, which had one branch in Mesa.
Lewis, an executive with more than 30 years of senior-level business and consumer banking experience, has served in several senior banking positions in the Phoenix area. His previous positions include chairman, president and CEO of Sunrise Bank of Arizona and chairman and CEO of First Interstate Bank of Arizona.
Lewis is a past president of the Arizona Bankers Association.
