UniSource Energy Corp. has named David G. Hutchens president, the Tucson-based company announced Thursday.
Paul Bonavia, who has been president and chief executive officer, remains CEO and continues to serve as chairman of UniSource Energy's Board of Directors.
UniSource is Tucson's largest publicly traded company.
Hutchens, the company's executive vice president since March, will now be responsible for the generation, transmission and distribution operations of subsidiaries Tucson Electric Power and UniSource Energy Services, along with other business support areas, the company said in a news release.
Hutchens, 45, served five years in the U.S. Navy and worked as an engineer before joining TEP as an energy analyst in 1995. He later held management positions overseeing wholesale energy sales and, in 2007, was named vice president of wholesale energy and UNS Gas, an operating subsidiary of UniSource Energy Services. He became vice president of energy efficiency and resource planning in 2009.

Tucson Electric Power serves more than 400,000 customers in Southern Arizona, and UniSource Energy Services provides natural gas and electric service for about 235,000 customers in Northern and Southern Arizona.
