Ramona Quimby is 8 years old and in the third grade, and school is not fun.
Not only that, she has to put up with her big sister, Beezus, who always gets in the way, and Aunt Bea — the person Ramona loves so much — is getting married and moving to Alaska.
Can things get much worse?
Well, yes, they can. She's growing up, and things are changing.
And her dad loses his job …
And there's a recession …
And lots of people are out of work …
And third grade is not fun.
You'll find out how Ramona and her family weather their problems in the Pima Community College Theatre Arts production of "Ramona Quimby," opening next Friday at the PCC Center for the Arts.

Adapted by Len Jenkins, the play is based on the Newberry Award-winning books by Beverly Cleary.
Betsy Kruse Craig is the director, and "Ramona" is played by Kristina Moser, a PCC student.
"Ramona Quimby" is the perfect play for a family to attend, Kruse Craig says.
"It's not about transporting you to somewhere else," she says. This play "is telling you that there really is no such thing as a perfect family — that all families have issues, and that you can get through them."
