Owner: Brothers Dan and Andy Davidson.
Ages: 64 and 59, respectively.
Ride: Built from a Laser 917 kit that Andy Davidson bought for around $300 at a swap meet in 2002, this street-legal vehicle resembles a hovercraft. It took about 2 1/2 years to assemble, and it's largely made up of secondhand bits such as recycled car seats and broom handles.

Top speed: 110 mph
Key features:
A remote-controlled, 500,000-volt Taser that doubles as a hood ornament.
Front and back cameras that let the driver watch inside monitors to see what's coming up and what's behind.
An air conditioner that would typically be used to cool a room.
A roof-mounted flamethrower that runs on a 1-pint tank of propane gas and shoots 25-foot plumes.
The word: It looks like a rocket ship, says Andy Davidson, shown in the photos above and at left. "It's nutty."
Experience: The brothers drive the car around Tucson and occasionally on road trips to Phoenix and California. The vehicle is low to the ground, the passenger's seat has a massage setting, the radio attached to the ceiling was tuned to KXCI-FM, and the doors can be left up and open during travel.
