The first time Paula Weiss met her future husband, David, he was taking off his clothes.
He was a dancer at a local strip club, and she was a patron out with friends. If she was impressed by what she saw, she didn't let on; no sparks flew that night.
Nor over the next several years, as she ran into him on occasion through a mutual friend.
But when she spotted him at a bowling center in 1996, a casual hello turned into a phone number exchange, which led to a first date. Exactly two years later, they got married.
The irony, David Weiss notes, is that his parents also met at a bowling center.
When the couple are not tending to business at their Weiss Guys Auto Sales on North First Avenue, they can be found a couple of nights a week at Cactus Bowl. She bowls in one league; he's in two.

It was love at first gutter ball.
They dated for two years, most often hitting the lanes together, before tying the knot 14 years ago.
They moved to Tucson's northwest side 12 years ago and continue to bowl two to three nights a week at Golden Pin Lanes on Miracle Mile. Duncan's average is 190. His wife's is up to 170.
