Tucson Irish dancers join Beoga in concert
Blistering fiddles and dueling twin accordions punctuate the distinct sound of Beoga, a band of arguably the finest of Ireland’s young musicians.
The band blends bluesy riffs with traditional Irish folk and dance tunes then throws in a little Astor Piazzola-style jazz with some downright raunchy — in the words of Tucson concert promoter In Concert — New Orleans jamboree vibe.
Beoga, accompanied by Tucson’s Tir Conaill Dancers, returns for a show at 8 p.m. Saturday at Berger Performing Arts Center, 1200 W. Speedway. Tickets are $22; $20 for seniors, students and Tucson Friends of Traditional Music members, at inconcerttucson.tix.com
