Founded in San Francisco in the early 1980s by a couple of out-of-work singing telegram deliverers, The Bobs continue to churn out progressive a cappella music.
Their arrangement of "Helter Skelter" was nominated for a Grammy Award in 1984.
More recently, The Bobs have recorded versions of Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue" and dozens of originals about diverse topics like post office violence, heart transplants and tattoos.
The Seattle Times said the ensemble "continues to ply a trademark style that combines astounding vocal agility, deliciously ridiculous original pieces, wildly imaginative arrangements of tunes by the likes of the Doors, Kurt Weill and the Beatles, and off-the-cuff stage antics that give every performance the edge of stand-up comedy."
The Bobs will play Plaza Palomino Courtyard on Saturday.
