A 48-year-old man was killed in a south-side Tucson crash Wednesday, police said Saturday.
Richard Eugene Bracamonte was pronounced dead at a hospital shortly after the two-vehicle crash, which occurred about 8:30 p.m. April 22 at the intersection of South Tucson Boulevard and South Forgeus Avenue, police said.
Tucson police gave the following account in a news release Saturday:
A 16-year-old was driving a Cadillac XTS north on Tucson Boulevard "at a high rate of speed." The Cadillac struck the driver side of Bracamonte's Hyundai Ioniq as he tried to turn left without yielding from South Forgeus onto southbound Tucson Boulevard.
An officer from the Impaired Driving Enforcement Unit determined the 16-year-old, who received minor injuries in the collision, was not impaired by alcohol or drugs at the time.
