Club Congress becomes drum and bass central Friday night as the Downtown venue welcomes DJ Dieselboy back to Tucson.
Known to family and friends as Damian Higgins, Dieselboy led the stateside drum and bass revolution in the early 1990s. He started in Pennsylvania, playing clubs in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. Today he is one of the best-selling drum and bass DJs in the world.
Dieselboy's latest mixed masterpiece, "Substance D," was released earlier this year on his Human Imprints Recordings label.
The set begins at 9 p.m., and tickets are $8 in advance, $10-$12 the day of the show, through Club Congress, 622-8848.

The Brunettes make twisted indie pop, pulling from a kaleidoscope of influences, from doo-wop to hip-hop.
The pair will play Solar Culture at 9 p.m. Tuesday. Admission is $7.

The show starts at 7 p.m., and a donation to Dry River will get you in the door.
