"Hancock." Will Smith continues his reign as king of summer action movies with this sly, explosive superhero send-up. Smith plays the titular hero, whose bad attitude and penchant for reckless rescues make him a media pariah. A publicist played by Jason Bateman tries to rework his image, even as his suspicious wife (Charlize Theron) wishes Hancock would go away. You're glad he's there to save you from the doldrums.

"Drillbit Taylor." Freshman dweebs think they've hired a mercenary (Owen Wilson) to fend off attacks from bullies. Producer Judd Apatow and screenwriter Seth Rogen collaborated on the uneven comedy, which is wildly funny at times but slogs through much of the second half. Blu-ray and DVD extras include featurettes and deleted/extended scenes.
