A fire at a south side home displaced three people Thursday after it started outside and spread to the roof, authorities said.
The Tucson Fire Department went to the home in the 1700 block of West Tennyson Drive, near West Irvington and South Midvale Park roads, at about 3 p.m. after the residents called 911 to report the blaze, said Capt. Tricia Tracy, a department spokeswoman.
The fire started outside in some weeds and spread through a small hole in the home before rising up the wall to the roof area, Tracy said.
The fire, which damaged some rafters between the roof and the ceiling, caused $25,000 worth of damage, she said.
No injuries were reported.
