Anyone who's ever been disappointed by his or her attempts at feline photography has to appreciate the work of TJ Albano. Her expressive cat portraits are wondrous — in large part because the subjects are gazing intently into the camera, and not showing us their backs as they duck under the nearest piece of furniture.
"I enjoy taking pictures of my animals," Albano said. "They (her two cats, Ziggy and Zoey) are (good subjects.) They make good eye contact.
"It's all in the eyes."
Albano also likes to get out "almost every night" during the summer months to take sunset pictures.
But mostly, she said, "I love close-ups of flowers and cactus."
She enjoys heading out to Saguaro National Park East to look for bugs and spiders to photograph along with the flowers and cacti.
