Do you feel better informed — at least about the intricacies of our corner of the world — here at the end of 2007? If you’ve been reading the Arizona Daily Star regularly, you probably are.
In the last year the Star has run hundreds of short items labeled “Did You Know…” They’re intended to add tidbits to your trivia trove, from the useful description of rare crested saguaros to the slightly absurd revelation about the benefits of sand when battling vampires.
From all this wisdom we’ve compiled today’s Did You Know quiz, with some apology to Michael Feldman’s “Whad’Ya Know?”
The answers to all these questions were part of the items accompanying news and feature stories through the year.

Take the quiz at your leisure on the printed page and score yourself next Sunday. Or take a 20-question version online at azstarnet.com/accent. Bag a perfect score in the online quiz and you’ll be entered into a drawing for prizes, including books, audio tapes and DVDs.
While there’s only one correct answer, one could argue that other choices are right. See numbers 9, 14 and 23, if you don’t believe us.
Meantime, Happy New Year from the staff of the Arizona Daily Star.
