A devil of a handbag just may be the summer's fashion sensation.
To promote the upcoming movie, "The Devil Wears Prada," Amazon.com recently opened a Web boutique that features a handbag designed by "Sex and the City" stylist Patricia Field.
The bag, carried prominently by Anne Hathaway in the film, sold out within hours. The site is now compiling a waiting list, with the next shipment scheduled Aug. 1.
The distressed bag is studded at the corners and has a foldover design that transforms from messenger bag to clutch. It retails for $79.95.
A T-shirt bearing a signature line from the film, "I'm just a stomach flu away from my goal weight," hasn't fared as well. Its price has been slashed from $28 to $14.99; a tank bearing the same line has been reduced from $20 to $12.99.
