This just in from Karyn Zoldan - thank you, Karyn, for sharing this news!
Mark your calendars for a volunteer orientation — Greyhounds 101 — on Sept. 13.
Do you have one hour to spare? Southern Arizona Greyhound Adoption seeks a few good volunteers to help transition ex race dogs into forever homes. Volunteers are needed to interact 1 to 1 with the hounds at the Marana kennel; to teach greyhounds about home life via foster care; to assist at meet & greets, plus fundraising, transporting, social media, photography, and more. Find out where you fit in. Volunteerism is good for the heart and soul.
The orientation is held at the Murphy-Wilmot Branch Library, 530 N. Wilmot Road, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Sept. 13.
From the nonprofit group's blog:
Unlike cocker spaniels or golden retrievers, greyhounds have spent their early years racing or in training; they don’t have the traditional doggy experience. Come to the Orientation for some Greyhound 101 to find out what makes greyhounds special, how SA Greys moves them forward, and how you can help.
