Wanted: your stories and photos of memorable days in the great outdoors.
Maybe it was that morning when you watched a bobcat climb to the prickly top of a saguaro cactus.
Perhaps it was that evening when you were captivated by the full moon rising over the Rincon Mountains.
Or maybe it was something funny or quirky — such as the "drunk-as-a-skunk" incident that a Star staff member recalls all too clearly. He and his wife were awakened by a skunk as it lapped up the remnants of a nightcap they had left sitting in a tin cup — just inches from their heads — beside their sleeping bags. They remained very still while the skunk drank its fill.
Anyway, you get the idea. We want to hear your personal tales of outdoor adventure, natural beauty, peril, wonderment or just plain silliness.

Your story might involve any outdoor activity — from hiking or camping to boating, biking, bird-watching, climbing or general sightseeing. If you have a photo to illustrate the story, so much the better.
Please write your tale in 250 or fewer words and submit it along with a photo, if available, by going to http://go.azstarnet.com/ outdoortales.
It's a good idea to keep a copy of the story and photo on your desktop for easy access. Entries will be accepted only through the online submission site.
We'll publish as many of your tales as possible in an upcoming ¡Vamos! cover story.
The deadline for submissions is 5 p.m. Sept. 21. Call Doug Kreutz at 573-4192 with questions.
