YUMA -- A couple and their 5-month-old infant found dead in their home were apparently the victims of a murder-suicide, Yuma County Sheriff's officials said Tuesday.
A final determination has yet to be made as to the manner of death of Brian Saunders, 22, Nicole Saunders, 19, and their daughter, Hannah, said Capt. Eben Bratcher. But evidence in the couple's home indicates it likely was a murder-suicide.
Bratcher said a concerned family member called authorities after being unable to reach the couple for days. A deputy found the bodies Monday afternoon after breaking a window to enter the home.
The bodies had been in the home for quite a while, Bratcher said. He said each victim was found in a separate room.
Residents of the quiet, suburban Foothills neighborhood said the family kept to themselves and they usually only saw the wife when she would leave to run errands.
