The Pinal County Sheriff’s Department has arrested a man wanted in connection with a string of sexual assaults.
Mesa resident Elieel Obed Beltran-Rabago, 21, was booked into Maricopa County 4th Avenue Jail Wednesday and is awaiting extradition to Pinal County on three counts of suspicion of sexual assault and one count of suspicion of kidnapping, according to a news release.
Beltran-Rabago was identified by at least one witness who was shown a composite sketch, and that witness led investigators to Beltran-Rabago’s home in Mesa, the release said.
His arrest came three days after the Maricopa Police Department asked for Pinal County’s help with a Monday sexual assault along Arizona 238. Detectives later learned the assault had occurred within 100 yards of an attack the Gila River Indian Reservation Police Department was investigating from June 25, the release said.

Suspect and vehicle descriptions from both incidents were identical, and both victims were from the Mesa area, the release said.
Pinal County Sheriff’s investigators believe that, because of the nature of the crimes and it appears the targeted victims were non-citizens who may be less likely to report their victimization due to fear, there could be additional victims.
Anyone who believes they may be a victim are asked to call 1-800-420-8689.
