Dogs of all breeds, shapes and sizes waited — some patiently in strollers and some not so patiently on leashes — for several hours to have their pictures taken Saturday at Muttropolis, a Foothills-area pet store.
Inside the store at La Encantada, a red booth decorated with hearts waited for the dogs. Owners paid $10 to have their dogs' pictures taken in the "kissing booth."
The annual event, named Smooch-A-Pooch, gave pet owners a way to celebrate Valentine's Day with their pets, store manager Amy Tucker said.
Smooch-A-Pooch is one of the many holiday-themed parties Muttropolis has for both man and beast, she said. This year marked the third year Muttropolis has had the party, she said.
Also at the event were several dogs from the Pima Animal Care Center that were up for adoption.

During the four-hour event, Muttropolis donated 5 percent of the store's sales to the center, Tucker said.
About 200 people made their way to the store, 2905 E. Skyline Drive, for their dogs' photos to be taken.
University of Arizona graduate student Jacy Bell, who occasionally shops at the store, brought her dog, a 7-month-old basset hound named Indie, to be photographed in the kissing booth.
"I thought it'd be really cute," Bell said. "I call her 'smoochy poochie' because she likes to kiss."
A few minutes after being photographed, Indie lived up to her nickname. She jumped into the arms of customer James Steenken — also there with his dog — and licked Steenken's face.
